Mandrem Mates – Week 3 & 4 Update – India

We are nearly a month into our trip.

We’ve had work days, gym days, beach days, lazy days and nothing days. We’ve spent days by ourselves and spent days with new friends, several new friends. It’s been pretty awesome on the friend front.

I love new encounters and chance meetings, especially when it turns out you guys get on and have a lot in common. It makes me believe in the theory of soul attraction and that really we are somehow drawn to each other in some way without even realising it. Fascinating stuff.

Weeks Three & Four have been full of adventure. Here’s a summary:

  • OPEN MIC: I played at my first open mic night in Arambol at a venue called Organic Vibes. There was a power cut that night but we sang through with a battery powered amp, gathered all in a circle and had a super intimate gig. It was such a buzz. Definitely doing it again! You can catch a snippet of e singing on my instagram post here.
  • DOG TEMPLE: We spent the day cuddling indian street dogs and helping out a fantastic organisation that has dedicated their time in getting these dogs treated, sterilised and found brand new and loving homes. You can read a full post about it here.
  • MANDALA TATTOO: I got a new tattoo! It was uniquely designed, a beautiful piece and the start of what I hope to be a sleeve from every place we visit while travelling.  Read about my experience here.
  • ROAD TRIP: We went on an epic road trip to Divar Island on the motorbikes with our friends. Check out my Instagram post about it, the journey through Chorao village was intense! We had a run in with a bus and some fighting buffalo!

So many adventures, so much experience.

Until the next post x
